Aerospace Defense Command celebrates its 47th Anniversary in defense of the skies of the Fatherland

The sector vice-president of Defense and Sovereignty, Vladimir Padrino López, congratulated the Integral Aerospace Defense Command (CODAI), on the occasion of its 47th Anniversary, for its work in achieving a high level of technological independence, and its work in defense of Venezuelan airspace.

“Undefeated in the national sky, CODAI's permanent aviators have been able to guarantee the protection of Venezuelan airspace for more than four decades,” he said.

He recognized his work to provide “an immediate and effective response to provocations or threats against our sovereignty, particularly those of a supremacist and imperial nature.”

Padrino López also expressed his recognition of the progressive modernization of the CODAI despite the unilateral coercive measures imposed by the United States against Venezuela; circumstances that enhanced the operational autonomy of the military entity, as well as the creation of its own means for national defense.

“With its modern radars, missile systems, anti-aircraft artillery and the use of aircraft in close coordination with the Bolivarian Military Aviation, the CODAI has become the vanguard of the nation's comprehensive defense,” the senior official praised.

Finally, he addressed a greeting to the commander of the CODAI, M/G José Luis Tremont.
