Amoroso: We have 85% of the electoral schedule met

From the warehouses of the National Electoral Council (CNE) in the Filas de Mariche sector of the Miranda municipality, the president of the instance, Elvis Amoroso, reported that 85% of the schedule for the municipal elections and the National Youth Consultation to be held on Sunday, July 27, has been completed.

After the process of auditing and pre-dispatching the voting machines, Amoroso indicated that 100% of the electoral material and the machines are deployed throughout the country. “We can assure them that the elections are fully prepared to ensure a transparent and fair process,” he said.

Amoroso pointed out that this new audit involved the presence of different technicians from the country's universities who participated in this evaluation, which consisted of an exhaustive study of all the technical components of the voting machines.

On February 27, 2,806 people will be elected: 335 mayors and 2,471 councilors. Of these, 1,420 will be per list.

Amoroso specified that during the democratic exercise, 15,710 electoral centers and 15,935 voting stations will be installed and indicated that 21,524,126 voters will participate in the elections.

“The Venezuelan people will express their absolute will in the best electoral system in the world. We are very proud of the level of preparation achieved for this new democratic phenomenon,” he said.
