This Thursday, the National Assembly (AN) approved the report of the Special Commission for the Defense of the Territory of Guiana Esequiba and Territorial Sovereignty, corresponding to the period 2021-2024.
“The eternal fire of the Bolivarian ideology forces us not to allow the imprint of foreigners to set foot on our sacred land, Guiana Essequiba is ours and our existence and spirit will not be enough for its defense,” said Jorge Rodríguez, president of the AN.
For his part, the deputy to the AN, Hermann Escarrà, stressed that the report submitted goes through the fundamental milestone of the General Captaincy and ends in the Geneva Agreement.
“Our best scholars worked there (in the report), with universities close to 80. Bolivarian rectors and other universities,” said Escarrà.
He reiterated the call to continue defending the Essequibo territory because it is part of Venezuela's struggles and victories.
