AN approved the BCV's economic budget for 2026

The plenary of the National Assembly (AN) approved, by qualified majority, the economic budget of the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV) for the year 2026.
The aforementioned budget was presented by Deputy Liseth Muñoz, who explained that in this economic estimate, the operating revenues of the BCV for next year are expected to amount to 35 thousand 786 million 974 thousand 194 bolivars. Meanwhile, operating expenses were estimated at 114 thousand 248 million 464 thousand 817 bolivars.
“This proposal is distributed in: 38% for current expenses; 11.40% capital expenses; 18.16% social security for BCV workers; 30.07 strategic expenses; 1.96 corrections,” explained the parliamentarian.
In the same way, he explained that this budget has its sights set on the technical strength and social commitment of the Issuing Entity. “It is also framed in a commitment to peace by maintaining economic stability. It also defends social justice by prioritizing collective commitment,” Muñoz emphasized.
