AN will follow up investigations into the case of Víctor Hugo Quero

The National Assembly (AN) will accompany the investigations carried out by the Public Ministry (MP) into the case of citizen Víctor Hugo Quero Navas.
In a statement released this Monday, the Legislative Branch also expressed its confidence in Venezuelan institutions so that justice prevails, “thus reaffirming the validity of the rule of law and the protection of the fundamental rights of our people.”

The National Assembly of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, in exercise of its powers of control and oversight enshrined in the Constitution, expresses its absolute and unconditional support to the country at the beginning of the exhaustive investigations announced by the Public Ministry on May 7, 2026, as well as the actions taken by the institutions of the Venezuelan State, regarding the case of the citizen Víctor Hugo Quero Navas and expresses its heartfelt condolences to his relatives, especially to his mother, Mrs. Carmen Navas.
The National Assembly believes that the criminal investigation will clarify the circumstances and facts surrounding the health situation and subsequent death in custody of Víctor Quero.
In this way, we express our trust in the institutions of the Venezuelan State so that justice prevails, thus reaffirming the validity of the rule of law and the protection of the fundamental rights of our people.
The National Assembly will constantly monitor the development of this case, within the framework of cooperation between Public Powers enshrined in Article 136 of the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, to ensure that the democratic and social State of Law and Justice prevails.
