The Apure state opened a new production phase when it reached more than 6,000 kilograms of rice per hectare during the winter cycle, a yield obtained in the Hato Peñalero in the municipality of Rómulo Gallegos, where livestock farming is traditionally carried out.

The first trial covered 100 hectares and was carried out by producers Otilio Peñalosa and Franco, the latter from Guárico, while Governor Wilmer Rodríguez verified the results in the field and highlighted the potential of Apureña lands to expand cereal planting, reported Radio Nacional de Venezuela (RNV).

Rodríguez pointed out that this progress has the support of the president in charge, Delcy Rodríguez, and specified that in the Páez municipality there are more than 700 hectares under the management of Popular Power, in addition to another 350 active in the El Frío Hato.

During the inspection, the regional president, together with the state's agricultural manager, Gerson Vizcaíno, called on local producers to join the economic diversification strategy, assuring that the Regional Executive will provide technical support and permanent monitoring.

With these actions, the regional administration seeks to transform the Apure production model and strengthen supply chains to move towards self-sufficiency from the Venezuelan plains.
