Aragua received the Fuego Patrio route at the National Student Sports Games

The state of Aragua received from the hands of the state of Yaracuy the National Fire of the National Student Sports Games, at an event held in the student square, located in the Girardot municipality of Maracay.

The National Student Sports Games constitute the main stage for the development and projection of school sports in Venezuela, promoting fundamental values such as discipline, teamwork, perseverance and sporting excellence among boys, girls and young people from all over the country.

The National Fire is the official symbol of the National Student Sports Games and its journey through the different entities of the country marks the beginning of the decisive phase of this important national sports festival.

During the event, the secretary of the fourth transformation of the government of Aragua, Gipsy Colmenares, the president of the Regional Sports Institute of Aragua (IRDA), Carlos España, and the vice-president of the IRDA, Edgardo Díaz, were present, together with representatives of the Bolivarian government of Aragua and members of the regional sports community.

The president of the Regional Sports Institute of Aragua, Carlos España, highlighted the importance of this event for the entity and for student sports development. “Today we received in the state of Aragua the National Fire that covers all the states of the country on the eve of the National Student Sports Games. We are starting this regional phase, where more than 385 athletes will seek their qualification to the national level. Aragua will participate in more than 23 sports disciplines thanks to the joint efforts of the Bolivarian government of Aragua, the Ministry of Education and all the institutions involved,” he said.
