On the last day of group B this Sunday, Argentina equaled 1-1 with Paraguay in the 2024 Under-23 Football Qualifying Championship, at Misael Delgado in Valencia.
After a high-intensity first half between the two teams, a match that was highlighted by great counterattacks on the part of both teams, the Paraguayans won the scoreboard in the second half through a penalty kick due to a foul on the verge of half a moon in the small area, a maximum penalty that Diego Gómez would exchange for a goal, with a strong shot crossed to the right post of the Argentine goalkeeper 67 minutes into the match.
Although the Argentine team had closer approaches to the rival goal, it wouldn't be until almost the end of the match when Luciano Gondou appeared in the 90th minute to push it over the hour.
Those led by the former FC Barcelona player, Javier Mascherano, achieved a very valuable agonizing tie against the clock.
Paraguay will play its next match against the Uruguayan national team, who will debut in the competition next Wednesday, January 24, while Argentina will later face Peru that same day, who have just defeated Chile by the smallest difference at Misael Delgado in Valencia.
