This Wednesday, the workers of the Buenos Aires Press Union (Sipreba) in Argentina begin a three-hour cessation of work, followed by a mobilization demanding wage bargaining that would allow them to pay decent salaries above the basic basket and to settle debts with their workers

“The day of cessation of work and mobilization takes place within the framework of the reinforcement of the plan to fight for joint negotiation with public campaigns and mobilizations that press workers based in the Buenos Aires Press Union (Sipreba) voted on last Saturday, August 3,” details a statement from the workers.

The complaint is addressed to the media of the Association of Newspaper Publishers of the city of Buenos Aires (Aedba) because “since Sipreba conquered trade union status and the legitimate right to negotiate salaries on an equal basis, Aedba has systematically tried to block the possibility of reaching collective agreements”.
