Several Argentine organizations demanded this Tuesday, the 16th, the release of social leader Milagro Sala, eight years after her arrest, according to the Prensa Latina website.

The indigenous leader was arrested in January 2016 for alleged incitement to violence while leading a protest against the changes imposed by the former Jujuy governor, Gerardo Morales, in the cooperative program.

She is currently under house arrest and multiple agencies have reported the humiliation, outrage and attacks suffered by her.

Sala suffers from episodes of deep vein thrombosis and kidney problems and in 2023 she suffered the death of her son Sergio Chorolque and her husband, the journalist and poet Raúl Noro.

She was arrested during the government of Mauricio Macri and Morales. He is the victim of tremendous injustice, accusations, political, judicial and media persecution. Two thousand 923 days for challenging power, for doing politics for those from below, said the organization Patriotic Encounter, in a message posted on its account of the social network X.

She assured that the power wants her imprisoned for “building dignity for her people, leading a neighborhood organization, made up mostly of women, that provided help in the face of poverty and generated cooperative work.”

In the message, he highlights that “Tupac built sports centers, schools, factories, health centers and swimming pools that were usurped by Morales. It was Jujuy's third source of employment generation. That's what Miracle did! Freedom now! , he added.

La Campora and the Grand National Front also joined this demand.
