Education unions protested before the Argentine Congress against the approval of a law that establishes education as a service and not a universal right.
“We will not let them turn public education into a service, public education is a social right that must be guaranteed by the State, we are not going to allow them to commercialize and/or privatize public education,” added the Confederation of Education Workers of the Argentine Republic (CTERA).
According to what was published by the Hispantv portal, this law would delimit the constitutional right to strike.
Public education in the South American country has been underfunded as a result of economic and educational policies carried out by the Government of Javier Milei.
