Artistic gymnasts win medals at the Pan American Championship

The gold and silver medalists in artistic gymnastics at the Panama 2026 South American Youth Games, Mía Garcés and Caleb Ysava, added new awards to their careers, after climbing to the podium at the start of the Junior Pan American Championship of the discipline that began this Saturday in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Ysava became the main protagonist of the gymnastic day, after dominating with an impeccable staging in the men's jump, where he totaled 13,233 points at the close of the race, according to the Ministry of Popular Power for Sports.

The podium was completed in second and third place by Chileans Agustín Espinoza with 13,166 and Arturo Rosel with 13,133 respectively. For his part, Garcés won the second prize during the competition when he won the silver medal in the asymmetric bars of women's artistic gymnastics, with a cumulative score of 12,666.

The continental competition is part of the preparatory events for the top multi-sport event for this year's category: the Caracas 2026 Bolivarian Youth Games.
