This Saturday, March 28, runners from the state of Aragua will participate in the race—walk to Run Fem 5k in its first edition, funds that will be used to contribute to Casa de Abrigo Yioryina León, a structure that provides care for vulnerable women in the state.

Gipsy Colmenares, director of the aforementioned women's shelter, an entity linked to the entity's governance, explained that the day is framed in the activities that take place in connection with the international women's month.

“The purpose is to be able to embrace women from Aragüeña, since it intends to be pro-fund to advance the construction of the shelter, which is already 60% built, as well as its endowment,” he explained.

He specified that this is a social policy aimed at those who today may be presenting a mental health condition. “It is vital for us to offer a social policy for Aragüeñas who are in a position to roam, and I also understand that we want this shelter to be a space for passage for those who have already undergone a rehabilitation process and thus consolidate their social reintegration,” he said.
