Attorney General's Office confirms arrest of Maracaibo mayor Rafael Ramírez

The Public Ministry (MP) ruled on the arrest of the mayor of Maracaibo Rafael Ramírez Colina and other collaborators who, as established in the Organic Code of Criminal Procedure (COPP), will be brought before the court in the case of matters against corruption.

Those arrested will be charged with the serious irregular acts provided for in the catalog of criminal offences of the Anti-Corruption Act, which are attributed to them on the basis of investigations carried out in coordination with the National Anti-Corruption Police.

The of the MP reiterates that it has sufficient elements of conviction and reliable evidence to incriminate the persons referred to under investigation.

These actions are carried out as part of the struggle for the adjustment of public administration undertaken by the institutions of the Venezuelan State, in defense of the interests of the nation.
