Barcelona strengthens youth participation with the first session of the Governing Council

With the purpose of consolidating the leadership of the new generations, the Ramiro García court in Portugal was the scene of the first session of the Government Council for Youth and Sports 2026 in the Simón Bolívar municipality, in the state of Anzoátegui.

This space emerges as a strategic tool for integrating the various youth sectors into the territorial approach and the collective construction of proposals.

During the day, the productive projects that received funding from the local council were presented, after being selected in the last Popular Youth Consultation.

The event also had a robust institutional showcase where entities such as the Great Venezuela Youth Mission (GMVJ); Municipal Autonomous Institute of Sports and Recreation (IAMDER); National Experimental Security University (UNES); National Tourism University (UNATUR); Simón Rodríguez University (USR) and Civil Protection presented their training, recreation and development programs comprehensive.

The activity is consolidated as an instance of effective articulation. This platform allows young people to directly influence decisions that impact their environment and the development of their communities.

At the end of the tour of the exhibitions, the mayor of the Simón Bolívar municipality, Sugey Herrera, listened carefully to the proposals of the youth leaders and confirmed her unwavering commitment to this strategic sector.

“I want you to be the protagonists,” he said.
