In order to optimize operational capacity in the area of infrastructure and transport, the Government of Barinas provided a supply of heavy machinery and technical equipment to the Regional Institute of Transportation and Roads (INTRAVIAL) and to the Secretariat of Infrastructure and Territorial Planning (SIOT).
The investment of more than 100 million bolivars allowed the purchase of high-capacity units, including a Jumbo, a Caterpillar 12E motor grader and a Caterpillar 320C excavator.
These tools are aimed at strengthening the fronts of work in maintaining the road network and providing emergency care in the state, Governor Adán Chávez said.
The institutional equipment was complemented by the delivery of transformers, computer equipment, materials for demarcating streets and avenues, specialized tools, as well as uniforms and personal protective equipment for crews operating in the different municipalities of the state.
The incorporation of this equipment makes it possible to accelerate the Road Infrastructure Plan 2026. To date, this program has resulted in the placement of more than 209 tons of asphalt mixture in strategic corridors and comprehensive signage in school areas and main avenues.
Simultaneously, INTRAVIAL and the SIOT are keeping risk mitigation works active in the face of the rainy season.
Among the projects with the greatest impact are the rehabilitation of the Caño El Jobo protection dam in the Sosa municipality and the hydraulic protection works on the Santo Domingo River, as well as the maintenance and recovery of agricultural roads in the municipalities of Bolívar, Cruz Paredes and Sosa.
The regional authorities indicated that this technical strengthening seeks to guarantee road safety and provide effective responses to infrastructure maintenance needs throughout the territory of Barinas.
