The one from Barinitas, Jimmy Briceño is the new leader of the Vuelta al Táchira by Bike, winning the second 141-kilometer stage between San Cristóbal-San Joaquín de Navay and San Cristóbal arriving in a third-category port.
Briceño , after winning this stage of the “Giant of America”, moved Colombian Nelson Soto from the lead, who lost six minutes and while the North Santander player, Johan Jaimes, second yesterday, lost twenty minutes.
Briceño, 37, beat Yurgen Ramírez and the Boyacense, Adrián Bustamante, fourth in Alejandro Osorio, both from Gw Shimano, with the same time of 3 hours 11 minutes and 31 seconds.
In the new general standings, Briceño beat Ramírez by 4 seconds and Bustamante by 6 seconds. Osorio is fourth at 7 seconds and Edgar Pinzón and Diego Camargo are at ten.
This Tuesday, the third stage leaves San Juan de Colon and ends in La Tendida, with flat terrain predominating on the southern coast of Lake Maracaibo.
