The Joe Biden Administration approved a new $988 million military aid package for Kiev, through the Ukrainian Security Assistance Initiative (USAI), a package that includes ammunition for rocket systems and unmanned aerial vehicles.

This twenty-second funding from the Biden administration also plans to support maintenance, repair programs, as well as the strengthening of Ukrainian forces and their combat capacity, the State Department said, Fuser News reports.

This aid is in addition to a previous package of 725 million dollars announced on December 2, the largest since April, which includes anti-tank, anti-drone and other types of ammunition, given the decline in stocks of U.S. weapons.

Before the arrival of Donald Trump to the presidency of the United States (USA) and speculations about the future of aid to Ukraine, the Biden Administration sought to secure additional funds for Kiev.
