Bolivarian Government begins construction work on wheat processing plant in La Guaira

New wheat processing plant will generate more than 400 direct jobs

The Governor of the state of La Guaira, José Alejandro Terán, announced the start of construction of the wheat processing plant of the Molinos King of Wheat company in the Puerto Viejo sector of the Catia la Mar communal circuit.

The regional president was accompanied by the national superintendent of the Special Economic Zone, Johann Márquez and the Single Authority of the Special Economic Zone of La Guaira, Marcos Meléndez.

This plant with modern technology will have a production capacity of 48,000 tons per month, equivalent to about 1,600 tons of wheat per day and is expected to open in 18 to 24 months.

Governor Terán explained that this plant guarantees more than 400 direct jobs for the people and will have a monthly production capacity of 48,000 tons of wheat, which strengthens food sovereignty, national supply and opens up export opportunities to Central America and the Caribbean.”

He also added that during the construction phase, 150 immediate jobs will be generated, consolidating La Guaira as a productive pole for the benefit of the national economy.

“This work is in addition to the 13 projects approved in the Special Economic Zone of La Guaira aimed at productive development in different sectors and compliance with the policies of the Bolivarian Government to diversify the country's economy,” he concluded.
