20 older adults underwent surgery during a highly complex surgical day at the Dr. Victorino Santaella Ruiz General Hospital in Los Teques, where hip and knee joint replacements were performed through the Health and Life Plan 2026.

These operations were assigned through the 1×10 of Good Governance and the Great Mission Grandparents and Grandmothers of the Fatherland, a mechanism that concentrates requests and allows organizing the attention of prioritized cases, according to a press release from Venezolana de Televisión.

In this regard, the governor of Miranda, Elio Serrano, stated that these interventions guarantee access to procedures that are inaccessible to many families in the private sector, and highlighted the support of the president in charge, Delcy Rodríguez, in the execution of the plan.

For its part, the Single Health Authority of Miranda, Erik Ramírez, noted that the provision and development of these joint replacements confirm the state policy of providing timely responses in the public health system.
