Approximately 250 families of the Kariña indigenous ethnic group that reside in the Raúl Leoni parish in the state of Sucre were treated with a mega-day of comprehensive health organized in the community of San Pedro.

General medicine, pediatrics, dentistry, nutrition, deworming, vaccination and completely free delivery of medicines were part of the care provided to the indigenous population, as part of public policies promoted by the national and regional government, to strengthen social protection in native communities.

The comprehensive health day was developed by the team of the Institute for Indigenous Peoples of the State of Sucre (IPIES) whose press department reported that the activity was accompanied by specialists from the Regional Foundation for Health and representatives of the Expanded Immunization Program (PAI).
