The Minister of Popular Power for Ecosocialism, Nelson Rodríguez, accompanied by the governor of the state of Barinas, Adán Chávez, led the Los Llanos Regional Meeting, which seeks to promote the forest engine.

The activity brought together representatives from Guárico, Cojedes, Carabobo, Aragua, Apure, Portuguesa, Barinas and Yaracuy.

The meeting was attended by more than 190 people and 109 companies who expressed their intention to establish alliances in the different sectors: commercialization, forestry, research and technology, added value (sawmills and carpentry), ecotourism and crafts, seeking the sustainable use of forest heritage according to the realities of each region.

Likewise, State policy seeks to transform the National Forestry Company (ENAFOR) into the leading parent company on a national scale, providing it with full technical and operational capacity to lead the Venezuelan forestry industry, optimizing production levels throughout the chain and articulating from the initial use of the forest to the obtaining of processed products.

Governor Chávez recognized the work of the five working groups and celebrated the participation of private companies together with the organized communal sectors that have been developing the issue of forestry in the state.

The strategy consolidates a solid multisectoral articulation to ensure that wood and its derivatives work as a truly sustainable and sustainable resource for regional economic growth.
