Bolivarian Government inaugurated the 3rd National Maize and Rice Expo-Congress in Lara

The governor of the Portuguese state, Primitivo Cedeño, who was present at the inauguration of the 3rd National Maize and Rice Expo-Congress, in Barquisimeto, Lara state, pointed out that since his state is the largest cereal producer, they are accompanying this new phase in which more must be produced.

“We need to promote more regenerative agriculture, which is very important for us as a producer state, but it also transforms corn into flour,” Cedeño said.

He also highlighted that this year the Portuguese state has a projection of planting 240,000 hectares of corn for this cycle. “Food safety as a flag,” he said.

The governor invited everyone to attend the expo-congress and enjoy the presentations, the national and international guests and “everything good that Venezuela has to offer.

In this edition, rice is joining as a guest crop due to its strategic importance in national consumption.
