The National Government inaugurated a new Valencia-Havana air route at the Arturo Michelena International Airport in the capital of Carabobo.

The new connection is supported by the regional government through the Carabobo State Autonomous Airport Institute (IAEEC), in conjunction with the Venezuelan airline RUTACA. The international route will have a frequency of two flights a week, on Mondays and Fridays, local press reported.

The maiden flight arrived in Valencia from Havana's José Martí International Airport with 13 passengers on board, while another 42 departed from Valencia to the Caribbean island.

Through a statement from the government of Carabobo, it was reported that the initiative is part of the process of strengthening ties of brotherhood and cooperation between the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Republic of Cuba, with the objective of expanding opportunities for cultural, economic and tourist exchange for the integral development of the region.
