The national government is intensifying actions for the recovery of roads in the parish of Calderas, in the Bolivar municipality of the state of Barinas, which was affected by the recent rains that have fallen in the region.

A commission headed by the Secretary of Government, Maryeling Graterol, Mayor Mayra Jaramillo, representatives of the Ministry of Popular Power for Transportation, among other agencies, carried out an inspection of the work being carried out in the area.

Graterol explained that “the protection is carried out with cement rock to support the war bridge; in the construction of a variant for access to the town, as well as in the rectification of the 800 meter riverbed upstream and 500 meters downstream of the war bridge”.

He also stressed that the Government of Barinas, in coordination with the national Government, is developing an entire plan to provide answers to the affected communities.

“On instructions from President Nicolás Maduro and the governor (of Barinas) Adán Chávez, we have set out to respond for the good of those who live in this area of the Andean foothills, who, due to the rainfall that occurred, caused the increase in the flow of the Blue River, carrying torrential lava that undermined the left bank and part of the road protection, sections that are now being corrected and that did not suffer major consequences, thanks to the hard work that had been done previously on the bedrock, so that it was possible to favorably sustain the road passage to Caldera,” he explained.

Finally, he mentioned that a plan is being made for the recovery of tourist areas that were also affected, just as Civil Protection is keeping an eye on generating early alerts about the behavior of the river.
