As an institutional strategy aimed at risk mitigation and preventive maintenance of storm drains, the authorities of the mayor's office of the José Félix Ribas municipality of the state of Aragua activated the deployment of the Pre-Rain Plan.

The information was provided by the executive director of Maintenance of the municipality, Gersón Quiroz, who stressed that the primary objective is to anticipate critical scenarios before the arrival of the rainy season.

The operation began with the intervention of the Calanche River, specifically at the height of Interindustrial Avenue, where specialized crews use heavy backhoe-type machinery for dredging and sediment removal.

Quiroz explained that the approach includes cleaning weeds, removing debris and selective pruning to ensure the free flow of water currents.

These technical actions will be progressively extended throughout the municipal territory, with priority given to streams and open channels that require immediate attention prior to the rainy cycle.

Planning seeks to strengthen local water infrastructure and protect the integrity of communities located in vulnerable areas.

The execution of this plan aligns with the policy of transforming human cities at the top of maintenance and public services.

In addition, it responds to the guidelines issued by the National Executive, under the leadership of the president in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, with the coordination of the spokesperson of the People's Power in Aragua, Joana Sánchez, and the execution of the mayor Juan Carlos Sánchez.
