Bolivarian Government preemptively paralyzed 21 forestry companies for illegal management

Preventively, the operations of 21 companies in the forest area were paralyzed, after illegal practices in the management of natural resources were verified during inspections carried out at the national level, during environmental control operations carried out by representatives of the Ministry of People's Power for Ecosocialism (MINEC).

The ministerial body, in its account on the social network Instagram, points out that the result of these actions focused on the Forest Heritage sector was the retention of a total of 95.37 cubic meters of teak and samán rola wood; 190.16 cubic meters of sawn pine, apamate, cedar and jabillo wood; 100 square meters of machihembrate; 27 units of eucalyptus stantillos; four thousand 466 kilograms of charcoal and eight thousand kilograms of firewood.

In addition, three tractors and a heavy-duty vehicle were detained linked to the irregular operations.

The inspections, 109 in total, were carried out last week and resulted in the preparation of 109 technical reports, 15 instructed administrative records, four files notified to the Public Prosecutor's Office, 57 citations to citizens and the arrest of a person.

297 officials from various State institutions participated in the deployment, including MINEC; the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigations Corps (CICPC) and the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB).

The Civil Corps of Park Rangers and Forest Firefighters of the National Park Institute (INPARQUES); the Bolivarian National Police (PNB); the Public Ministry (MP) and spokespersons of the People's Power also acted to reaffirm the inter-institutional commitment to the protection of forest heritage and the fight against the illegal exploitation of natural resources.
