The governor of the state of Nueva Esparta, Marisel Velásquez, led, in the Marcano municipality, the reinauguration of a point of sale of the MERCAL network to guarantee the food sovereignty of the Neo-Spartan population, as part of the deployment of Love and Food Prosperity.

As part of the strategic policies to consolidate food sovereignty, the Bolivarian Government reactivated the Abasto PDVAL (Venezuelan Food Producer and Distributor), located in the Socialist Renacer Commune of Los Millanes.

During the reopening ceremony, Velásquez emphasized that this establishment is a key element in consolidating the food sovereignty of families.

He stressed that, in addition to offering the products of the basic food basket, its strategic location within the communal territory facilitates direct access to high-quality and low-cost supplies.

“Only in Revolution is social protection guaranteed. This PDVAL is proof that the Dream Map of our communes is being fulfilled step by step,” he emphasized.

For his part, Mayor Yul Armas recalled that the reactivation of this PDVAL is a tangible result of the National Popular Consultations. “It is a project chosen by the people themselves that today is becoming a reality, benefiting hundreds of families with fair prices,” he said.

The spokeswoman for the Commune, Daisy Villarroel, expressed the community's satisfaction with this progress for local food security.

“We have supportive prices and all the necessary products. We thank the National Executive, the Ministry of Food and our regional authorities for materializing this project through the commune to improve our quality of life,” he said.
