Food Market Authorities (MERCAL), an entity attached to the Ministry for Food, initiated a recovery plan for establishments installed in the state of Anzoátegui.
For the reopening of the module, located on the main avenue of Boyacá II in Barcelona, in the area of the Luisa Cáceres de Arismendi commune, were present the president of MERCAL, G/D José Félix Medina Estrada; the territorial director of the Ministry for Food, Junior Martínez; Valentina Rodríguez, national manager of Mercal health; Carlos Rivas, state chief of Mercal in the state of Bolívar; and as host, the head of Mercal in the state, Yinder Sage.
The establishment, fully equipped with food from the basic food basket, will directly benefit about 300 people a day in the Simón Bolívar municipality, from Monday to Saturday from 8 in the morning.
Quoted by the regional press, the president of the network, Medina Estrada, said that this initiative of the Ministry for Food, in coordination with the communes, allows stores to reopen and with them “overcome that war economy that we are facing”.
