In the Historic Center of Coro, Falcón state, the
Bolivarian Government certified 53 clay growers as Master
Craftsmen, on a special day organized as part of the
32nd anniversary of the declaration of Coro and La Vela as a Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The event, which was supported by the
National Institute for Socialist Training and Education (INCES), was attended by regional and local authorities, including the governor
of Falcón,
Víctor Clark; the mayors Rubén Molina (Colina) and Henry Hernández
(Miranda); the vice-chancellor for Multilateral Affairs, Rubén Darío Molina; the
president of INCES, Wilkerman Ángel Paredes; and representatives of the Cultural Heritage Institute (IPC).
During the day, the Luis Beltrán Prieto Figueroa
Order was also awarded to the Master Craftsmen of the Barro Nelson
Hernández, Pablo Revilla, José Sánchez and Jesús “Chucho” Coello. The
recognition highlighted the trajectory of those who have dedicated their lives to
construction on land and to the preservation of the traditional techniques of the Falcón
state.
The certification and enforcement process of
the order was carried out together with the IPC and the municipal heritage institutes of
Colina and Miranda, with the purpose of strengthening the work of teachers,
artisans and assistants linked to traditional clay architecture.
In parallel, technical meetings were held aimed at advancing the guidelines of the UNESCO Report 2026, based on the eleven corrective measures evaluated each year. The activities included meetings with community organizations, local authorities and tours of buildings in the historic centers of Coro and La Vela. In addition, the day also made it possible to review buildings incorporated into the Emergency Fund, evaluate their conditions and structure a care schedule for their recovery.
