Bolivarian Government refines planning for the Comprehensive Rabies Control Program

In order to safeguard human, animal and environmental health, planning meetings were held in Maracaibo and the East Coast of the Lake, planning meetings for the Comprehensive Rabies Control Program in the state of Zulia, according to the Radio Miraflores website.

The meeting was led by the sectoral vice-president of Health, Ecosocialism, Science and Technology, Isabel Iturria, who highlighted the importance of inter-institutional coordination to consolidate the prevention and control of rabies in the region.

Iturria said that this effort not only seeks to immunize pets, but also to make the population aware of responsible ownership and the prevention of zoonotic diseases.

The consolidation of this plan includes volunteers from different movements grouped in the Canine and Feline Rabies Vaccination Brigades.

It also incorporates students from the University of Health Sciences (UCS), the Community Health Network team, which encompasses the Comprehensive Community Health Areas (ASIC) and Popular Clinics, as well as representatives of the National Institute for Comprehensive Agricultural Health (INSAI) and the Nevado Mission.

In this way, comprehensive and timely care is guaranteed, following the guidelines of the President in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez.

The working group was also attended by the Minister of Popular Power for Health, Carlos Alvarado, together with Luz Meli Caldera, the sole health authority of the state of Zulia.

In addition, Nellys Molina, president of the Barrio Adentro Mission Foundation; Magda Magris, Deputy Minister of Collective Health Networks; the Nevado Mission and representatives of the People's Guard of the Zulia state, joined the activity.
