Bolivarian Government releases protected species in Henri Pittier National Park

Bolivarian Government officials carried out the release and relocation of native fauna in the protected areas of the Henri Pittier National Park.
These are several specimens that returned to their natural habitats after successfully completing their respective recovery, medical and behavioral evaluation processes, details a local press release.
Among the reincorporated animals, a group of common foxes or fox-dogs (Cerdocyon thous) stands out. These specimens, which were born and raised in the facilities of the Las Delicias Zoo, managed to keep intact their wild instincts and their natural evasion behavior towards humans.
The day also included the release of a false mapanare (Leptodeira annulata) and four boa constrictors, known locally as tragavenados (Boa constrictor). Prior to their relocation to safe areas away from human contact within the park, all reptiles underwent rigorous medical-veterinary evaluations.
