In a decisive step to dismantle the financial structures of crime, the president of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, enacted the new Anti-Faction Law. This regulation seeks to transform the State's security strategy, prioritizing the economic strangulation of criminal gangs and the tightening of penalties for their leaders.
The signing ceremony took place at the Planalto Palace, with the presence of key figures from the Legislature, such as the president of the House of Representatives, Hugo Motta, and the president of the Senate, Davi Alcolumbre, thus consolidating the consensus reached between the Executive and the National Congress.
The central axis of this law is the tracking and blocking of resources. The rule significantly expands the scope of measures to freeze and seize assets linked to criminal organizations
