Buildings of the National Museum Network without structural damage after the double earthquake

The National Museums Foundation (FMN) reported that the buildings belonging to the National Museum Network have no structural damage are those after the double earthquake of last June 24.
In this regard, the president of the FMN, Élida Salazar, explained that the corresponding protocols were applied in due course after the earthquakes in the country. “The day after the earthquake event, we convened an extraordinary session with the directors of each museum to coordinate detailed physical inspections of the infrastructure, together with their respective technical and primary custody teams,” he said.
De According to the preliminary reports submitted by the Presidential Commission for the Evaluation of Housing and Infrastructure Habitability, the Cultural Heritage Institute (IPC) and risk management and civil protection agencies, the buildings of the National Museum Network are not seriously damaged.
Some specific areas received yellow status (preventive evaluation and minor damage), as aesthetic or minor damage were detected (peeling of paint, minor cracks in non-structural masonry or preventive relocation of works of art). These spaces will remain temporarily restricted while cleaning, securing and minor restoration work is completed.
