Businesses in La Guaira achieve 90% reactivation in less affected areas

90% of the commercial establishments in the state of La Guaira that are located in areas that were less affected by the earthquakes have increased their sanctuaries and, in addition to the total registered in the entity before the tragedy, 56% of the commercial sector is operational.

This was reported by the governor of the state of La Guaira, Alejandro Terán, during an interview, where he explained that of the seven thousand businesses active in La Guaira before the earthquake, 1,752 remain standing and were identified in a first advance of the commercial census. As for the businesses and commercial establishments that were affected, but that can recover, he indicated that the regional government created a financing strategy in coordination with the banking system.

“We are working through public and private banking lines of credit to recover inventories, repair machinery and be able to support businesses,” said Terán.

He also announced that his administration is carrying out a census of entrepreneurs who are in temporary camps, itinerant camps or in affected communities, to support them with funding, in coordination with the economic vice-president, Anabel Pereira.

Regarding tourism, he noted in an interview with Venezolana de Televisión that meetings have been held with more than four thousand service providers, organized in three federations, to carry out the diagnosis of its effects and design a temporary employment plan aimed at the recovery of spas and the reactivation of tourism activity in the medium term, in accordance with international anti-seismic regulations.
