This Monday, December 9th, the sectoral vice-president for Politics, Citizen Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, highlighted that commemorating 200 years since the Battle of Ayacucho, the men and women of the Homeland continue to raise the flags of the struggles of the free peoples of the world.

“I have no doubt that as in Ayacucho we will raise that flag that Commander Chávez raised or that Commander Chávez felt, when he was riding that white horse, the flag of freedom, the flag of the struggles of the peoples of the free peoples,” he said, recalling that today Venezuela is facing the attacks of imperialism.

In that sense, during the commemorative ceremony for the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Ayacucho in the National Pantheon in Caracas, he referred to the fact that it is unfair “to try to reduce the independence struggles of 200 years ago, they were confronted with the Spanish Empire, the most powerful empire of that time, barbarians, genocidal, terrible murderers”.

He stressed that because of the fight that our heroes of the Homeland fought, this people do not give up, despite the fact that “we are fighting one of the greatest battles that any people have ever fought (...) 200 years later the sons of (Antonio José) Sucre, (Simon ) Bolívar and why not the sons of Chávez are facing the most powerful empire of all time.”
