“Anyone who doubts today that Venezuela has been subject to sanctions and that these sanctions have a fulminant impact in some areas is out of focus,” said the Sectorial Vice President for Politics, Citizen Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, during a meeting with various sectors of the state of Barinas, where he explained the direct effects of unilateral coercive measures on national life.

Cabello pointed out that denying the existence and impact of sanctions lacks objectivity, because the country has faced restrictions that did not arise spontaneously and indicated that there were actors who took steps abroad to promote measures against Venezuela, on the grounds that they would only affect individual leaders.
“They started with that old story: sanctions are for Diosdado for saying a name, that doesn't affect the State,” he said.

He said that versions of alleged properties under his name were even disseminated outside the country. He mentioned the case of a tower built in Panama a decade ago, falsely attributed to him. “If it's from Diosdado, grab it,” he said, reiterating that he has never visited that country and that, if he had resources, he would invest them in Venezuela.

The sector vice-president explained that these campaigns were part of a strategy of hate against the country, driven by sectors that turned politics into a business.

He stated that these groups do not seek to govern or assume public responsibilities, but to maintain private interests. “Serving hospitals, schools and the most humble is not part of their plans. Their plans are to make money and they don't care about anything,” he said.

Cabello recalled that the country has demonstrated political awareness and that, despite internal differences, steps have been taken towards national reconciliation, as in the case of the approval of the Amnesty Law as a gesture taken by the President in Charge.

Cabello reiterated that Venezuela will continue to defend its sovereignty and make progress in economic recovery, accompanied by the productive and social sectors of the Barinas state.
