The first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, during the broadcast of his Con El Mazo Dando program, said that during the governments of the Fourth Republic they financed bankers who stole money from savers and fled abroad.

“An example is Juan Carlos Escotet, who, with the reais of all Venezuelans, has a professional team in Spain, and banks in Panama and Miami, a man who was a cashier in Orlando Castro's bank who was robbed and continued his career as a banker,” said Cabello.

He added that on this list of corrupt bankers who took money from savers are Nelson Mezerhane and Eligio Cedeño, now protected by the United States Government and part of terrorist plans against Venezuela.
