The first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, during the 3rd National Meeting of the Network of Young Parliamentarians of Venezuela 2024, assured that before the arrival of Commander Hugo Chávez in the country, nothing was done without the permission of the “gringos”.

In that regard, he recalled that the February 4, 1992 rebellion was against imperialism and against the measures being taken by the government of then-president Carlos Andrés Pérez, “if the February 4 movement had anything from its inception, it was that it was absolutely anti-imperialist because here the North American empire governed, nothing was done here without the permission of the gringos.”

Cabello recalled that at the time the Organization of American States (OAS) did not speak out to demand the release of the soldiers who participated in the rebellion, “you never saw a sign out on the street saying the OAS asks for the release of Chávez, because we are rising up against imperialism.”

He specified that the Fourth Republic persecuted young people who rose up against the Government, “but we didn't lose hope, they didn't bend us down”, while asking young people to be in the vanguard against fascism; “today what I want is for that to become green in a country that should already be cured of fascism”.
