As part of the activities scheduled within the framework of the National Pilgrimage for a Venezuela free of sanctions, the Sectorial Vice President for Public Security and Peace Policy, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, held a meeting with producers and farmers in the state of Mérida, in which he pledged to intensify the fight against smuggling.

In that regard, Cabello Rondón asked the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB), to be severe with the issue of smuggling because that ends up affecting producers and the country.

Cabello Rondón emphasized that those products that are smuggled come with prices that are not competitive and bring inputs such as poor, poor quality fertilizers. “Imagine most of the tillage is with oxen; plowing, preparing for irrigation, checking, planting everything with so much love, and suddenly a third is not born, or a third is born, because of those inputs,” he explained.

He asserted that he will take the case to the National Institute for Agricultural Research because we have to find a way to start producing the seed and the inputs for the Venezuelan producer.

“If there is enough, we can export, but in the first instance it will be for the Venezuelan producer; that is fundamental,” he emphasized.
