During the national press conference of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), the general secretary of the political organization, Diosdado Cabello Rondon, responded to recent statements by Ecuadorian president Daniel Noboa on Venezuelan migration, stating that Ecuador's real problem is not migration, but drug trafficking.

“The first thing to be clear about is that Ecuador does not have a popular government, but rather a mafia linked to drug trafficking. Everything revolves around this scourge, which has permeated Ecuadorian institutions with the consent of those who now hold power,” he emphasized.

In response to Noboa's statements about the presence of Venezuelan migrants in Ecuador, Cabello asked to observe the regional context with greater responsibility.

“We in Venezuela have received with love and respect citizens from Ecuador, Colombia, Peru, Portugal, Italy and Germany. Everyone has been welcomed with open arms and is part of our society. What is expected of a president is a statesman's gesture, not hate or criminalization,” he said.

Cabello denounced the accusations against Venezuelan migration as an attempt to divert attention from the real problems that Ecuador should face.

Ecuador's main problem is not Venezuelans who have migrated, but drug trafficking that operates with complicity from the highest level. Drug routes that originate in Colombia are removed through Ecuador with the direct participation of the Ecuadorian government,” he stressed.

Cabello reiterated that Venezuela will continue to defend the dignity of its citizens abroad and will promote regional integration based on mutual respect and cooperation.
