The general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, recalled that during the Fourth Republic, every march on May 1st commemorating Worker's Day in Venezuela ended with homicides.
During his Con El Mazo Dando #569 program, Cabello Rondón emphasized that on May 1st, workers could not march here in Venezuela. “They are not going to tell us those of us who know the story,” he said.
He explained that one of the intimidation tactics used by some groups was that they “grabbed the newspapers, folded them up and put in scabbles, they were called the lobbyists, and the real workers couldn't march.”
Cabello criticized that Carlos Ortega, former president of the CTV, is still calling on those sectors to march.
“Ortega summons them from wherever he goes, playing bingo, roulette,” he added.
