During the press conference of the Directorate of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), the first vice-president of the revolutionary organization, Diosdado Cabello, assured that the presidential elections will be held in accordance with the Constitution and without the disqualified María Corina Machado.
“When a person comes forward with their arrogance, with their superiority complexes and says 'there can be no choices here without me', whatever is done without them, they will describe it as evil. Now in Venezuela there are going to be elections when decided by the National Electoral Council (CNE), I can guarantee that this lady will not be part of the elections as a candidate,” Cabello emphasized.
In this regard, he asserted that there is already a decision taken by the competent bodies regarding the disqualification of Machado. “There is nothing left to discuss (...) here there will be elections without it and this people will participate in the elections and will elect their president as they see fit.”
He stressed that the PSUV has its candidate, who is Nicolás Maduro, and that 43 political organizations from opposition sectors also have their options for the presidential elections.
