Cabello: Nicolás is the candidate because the rank and file of the PSUV decided it

The first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, stressed that Nicolás Maduro is the candidate who decided the bases of the red awning.

“All the bases of the Party at the national level expressed themselves in accordance with our statutes and expressed their decision that President Nicolás Maduro should once again be the candidate of the Revolution, and we respect that because it is the People's Power that decides,” he emphasized during Con El Mazo Dando Program number 473.

He stressed that the decision was made through 260,000 street meetings, 46,000 community meetings, plus 15,000 UBCH meetings. “That wasn't 10 that we met, no.”

He stressed that the PSUV has the structure and the collective conscience to summon the People to choose their candidate. “Our Party is the vanguard of the Revolution,” he said.
