Cabello on energy agreement: We hope that the investment will be in accordance with the country's interests

The Secretary General of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, regarding the recent energy agreements between our country and the United States, asserted that although they represent a commercial opening, the fundamental objective remains the total and definitive lifting of the unilateral coercive measures imposed against the country.

During the usual press conference of the red awning party, Cabello Rondón said that “it is one thing for a company to have to come to Venezuela and go through a series of procedures and cannot do so because it simply did not pass those procedures, so that it could come freely without any inconvenience.”

He also confirmed that Venezuela has always been a reliable partner for the entire world.

Cabello Rondón stressed that, in the midst of this agreement, those doors are opened, “it doesn't depend on us”, but the conditions are in place so that this investment —of which there is talk of more than 100 billion dollars— “can be managed and worked in accordance with the interests of Venezuela.”

“We hope that sooner or later Venezuela will not have any type of sanction, any type of persecution or blockade anywhere in the world and they will see how far Venezuela will go with our own methods,” he said.
