This Saturday, July 19, the sectoral vice-president for Politics, Citizen Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, reaffirmed that now assets recovered from drug trafficking, corruption and terrorism will be used by State security agencies to defend peace and territory.

“This series of units of buses, vans, among others, that according to our Law have been recovered by the National Government after a judicial process where the former owners are involved in crimes such as corruption, drug trafficking, conspiracies and terrorism; today we deliver them labeled, operational, ready to be used for the benefit of the entire People of Venezuela (...) to work for the common good and for our people,” he said from La Carlota.

He pointed out that the Bolivarian Government works every day to combat organized crime and drug trafficking. In this regard, he noted that recently, in the operations carried out against these groups in Zulia, boats, submersibles and semi-submersibles with very high power motors were seized and are being handed over to the Bolivarian National Guard and the Bolivarian National Police “to be used in the protection and defense of our people; and to guarantee peace and tranquility throughout the territory.”

“For example, the last narco-submarine captured about four days ago in Falcón, we had been following it up (...) And what are we using? The boats that were confiscated from drug trafficking... and we took them until they had, out of exhaustion, to abandon the ship they were carrying and as soon as they set foot on the ground, we were waiting for them and four Colombian citizens were arrested,” he said.

He pointed out that today Venezuela must know all the efforts being made and that “everything we are confiscating becomes an instrument for the fight against corruption, drug trafficking, terrorism and conspiracies.”

It should be noted that within the framework of these activities, the Minister of People's Power for Internal Relations, Justice and Peace also awarded decorations to representatives of State security agencies.
