This Wednesday during the broadcast of Con El Mazo Dando program number 573, the general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, analyzed the recent dynamics of various extremist opposition political figures who have returned to the country after a decade of leaving the territory under the narrative of being “politically persecuted”.

“By the way, a strange crowd arrived after saying that they were being politically persecuted, 10 years later they arrived in Venezuela as if nothing had happened. And who was chasing you? Because they fled, they left their people here and now they come and say: no, I was being persecuted. By whom? Because fear is free, but they left their people here,” Cabello emphasized, questioning the inconsistency in the story of those who abandoned their political responsibilities.

The leader compared this attitude with that of other figures such as “La Sayona” (María Corina Machado), whom he pointed out for their constant coming and going, ironizing the expectation of a definitive return that, in his opinion, only seeks to generate a superficial media impact.

He indicated that these actions respond to a strategy to try to regain prominence, dismissing the validity of their supposed conditions of hiding. “What they want is for you to name them; I'm not going to name them. I am willing to charge publicity for the Mazo, of course,” he ironized while contrasting these self-exiles with the struggles of the 60s and 70s, stressing that the present narratives lack the historical depth that characterized the political activity of those times.

In this regard, he warned about the internal contradictions that fragment the opposition, stating that this type of return only shows the lack of cohesion in their ranks and ironized about the treatment that his program will give to these situations: “They are killing each other, we are not going to give them a cap, I swear to them,” he laughed, finally warning with a firm tone: “Or rather, get ready that we are going to give him a cap.”
