The mission of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), State Security Agencies and Popular Power today is to ensure that this Homeland that we give to our children remains free, sovereign and independent as Simón Bolívar and Antonio José de Sucre dreamed of, said the sectoral vice-president of Politics, Citizen Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello.
In this regard, he stressed that before the Supreme Commander, Hugo Chávez Frías, came to power in 1998, the oligarchies that ordered the assassination of Antonio José de Sucre dedicated themselves to attacking and preventing the consolidation of the Bolivarian dream.
“Every attempt to recover Father Bolivar's dreams was defeated until, in 1998, a young man from Sabaneta de Barinas became president and with him the dreams of Bolívar and Sucre rose. But the dreams of Guaicaipura, of Juana Ramírez “The Advancer”, of Miranda, of Zamora, of Simón Rodríguez, were also raised. These are the dreams that we now have to defend ourselves,” said Cabello during the commemorative ceremony for the Bicentennial of the Battle of Ayacucho at the National Pantheon in Caracas.
