The general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, recommended that the Colombian magazine Semana stop its intrigues and begin to determine the causes of the deaths of witnesses in the trial that follows former president of that nation Álvaro Uribe Velez.

“I called the judges yesterday and told the prosecutor what I was going to do, and I threatened the jury that if they don't convict Uribe they'll see what's going to happen,” he ironized in reference to SEMANA's baseless accusation, pointing to “pressure” on the part of his person and the former guerrilla fighter Rodrigo Londoño (Timochenko) to obtain a conviction against the former president tried for the massacres against civilians that occurred in his government through false positives.

“Look at SEMANA magazine, how many witnesses against Uribe have died 'coincidentally'? Instead of reviewing the stupidity of your alleged complaints about the guerrilla commander Timochenko and me,” he said on Con El Mazo Dando's 536 program.
