Cabello: The CNE rules the rules, the EU is nothing!

The first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, stressed that the only referee in the July 28 elections is the National Electoral Council (CNE).

During the Press Conference of the National Directorate of the PSUV, he stated that “the rules are set by the CNE” and that no international organization such as the European Union should meddle in the internal affairs of Venezuela.

“The European Union is nothing, it is one of the oldest, most ineffective organizations in the world, they serve to be behind the United States. The European Union cannot give us lessons about anything,” he said.

“We are not making elections to have sanctions lifted, here in Venezuela it is time for elections and they are governed by the National Electoral Council,” he emphasized, referring to statements made by EU representatives, who claimed that because they were invited as international companions in the elections of July 28, they were going to lift sanctions against some Venezuelan officials.
